  Although he is listed at page 135 of William A. Birtwistle's book, John Wynn Birtwhistle (Jack) nor I ( L Alan Birtwhistle) found any substantiation for his entry of birth 1811 and death 1873. It appeared to Alan that he could be a duplication of William Burton Birtwhistle whose birth is listed in the same book on page 141 as born 1812 and dying 1873. In the 1851 Census, there was a William Birtwhistle born abt 1811 in Leeds, living in Leeds, with his wife Elizabeth and 2 children Joseph 15 and Elizabeth 12. He and his son are Coal Dealers. Therefore, I did not delete William . There is listed another William Birtwhistle, born abt 1811 to James Birtwhistle,died in 1783 in Settle, Giggleswick, and his wife Jane nee Young which could also be this individual, but no documentation has been found on this individual either.
